As far back as I can remember the urge to draw was as present as the urge to speak. Words have taken me through the murky swamps of politics, the luminous deserts of religion, and the highest peaks of personal relationships and family life.
Still there is a mystery; there are unanswerable questions in life, and I puzzle out my answers through art. My drawings have, through the decades, taken on many forms, working through many media.
At this point, I seek for meaning beyond words and images in nonrepresentational art. I am trying at the same time to let go of the notions of perfection and profundity. I want to have fun like I did when I could hardly speak.
